About Liang (Sid) Yi
I am an operator-researcher building embodied intelligence for real-world robots. My work spans tactile perception, dexterous manipulation, multimodal learning, real-robot reinforcement learning, research infrastructure, and recoverable robot-agent runtimes.
I received an M.Sc. in Sensor and Cognitive Psychology from Chemnitz University of Technology and a B.Sc. in Photoelectronic Science and Technology from Southwest University of Science and Technology. That path—from physics to cognitive science to robotics—continues to shape how I think about intelligent systems.
My central research question is:
How can robots turn incomplete perception into grounded action—and keep correcting themselves as the world changes?
